Liverpool vs Aston Villa

I fear I may have jinxed things again in the last match by referring to liverpool by their newly won title so I am going to revert to just referring to them as Liverpool. I don’t need to embellish their name Liverpool FC says it all.

Anyway, the good thing is the matches are coming thick and fast and yesterday’s news is just chip paper so we can look forward to resuming normal service with a game against against Aston Villa otherwise known as the (pantomime) villains.

There you go, one pantomime villain and a pantomime Dame. The mascot is the one on the left. It seems every club has to have one but no one is quite sure what they are for. The odder looking they are the less impact they seem to have on the results of the team.

Villa are fighting relegation so they will be up for this game and though they lack a bit of quality I am sure they will want to show some of fight. It’s the very least the fans will expect and deserve. For that reason I think it will be closer than it might otherwise be and I am predicting just a 2-0 win to Liverpool.

I am pretty sure that injuries permitting Klopp will give the team the chance to redeem themselves and and that he will start with the same side that started against City. Of course this is either the very definition of insanity or maybe it’s a sign of Klopp’s genius. I am sure the boys will have sobered up by now (even Robbo) and will want to make amends and give the crowd their money’s worth. Though, as the pubs have opened today, it is likely that most Liverpudlians will be hungover tomorrow. Crowd size will I feel jbe a good indicator of whether, as i suspect, Scousers really are just a load of old drunks 🙂
