Man City vs Liverpool

Next up City and it would be good to go into the International break leading the way in the League and top of our CL group knowing too that we will have Fab and Alcantara (Ox too?) to come back into the side and join our charge over Christmas and into the New Year.

I think Klopp is right to say this is nothing like a title decider this early on in what has been a strange and topsy turvey start to the season. It is though still a six pointer between the two sides that will probably be battling for the title at the end of the season. Also, there is now a strong rivalry between the sides and very obviously the managers too which will make this fixture tight and tasty (Yes I know ;-)).

Both sides still have some injury problems, some of them long term, but the good news for us is that we have Matip and Keita back and pushing for starting places. I can’t say I am disappointed that Aguero is missing for them as well as a few others like Mendy and Foulandinho. They still have quality throughout the side though and will be a threat but they have patches in games when their level drops and they are vulnerable. We need to take advantage of those moments in the game and certainly have the players to do just that in Mane and Salah. When they are on their game though they are a handful and will need to be at our best defensively. The battle between Gomez and Sterling could well be pivotal once again.

I have gone for Jones to start ahead of Keita because he might be more solid and I have stuck with Firmino instead of Jota for much the same reason. They will both hopefully still be on the bench and available to use when and if the game opens up. Team: Alisson, TAA, Matip, Gomez, Robbo, Hendo, Gini, Jones, Mane, Firmino, Salah.
