Letting the side down?
In the last article I joked about Klopp being a bad loser and made light of his grumpy reaction after the Madrid game, when he was blaming the pitch and picking on the German referee. Since then I have read a report that some of the German press have ripped into Klopp for overstepping the mark (Euro). I must admit I hadn’t seen his actual comments but now I have I can see what they mean. He said the referee gave decisions against Mane for “personal reasons”. This is an odd thing to say and leaves open the question of what it could be about Mane that made the ref take against him. I don’t think Klopp should leave that comment hanging and now the moment has passed and assuming he has nothing to back up his comment, I think the decent thing to do would be to apologise.
