The English have been to quite a few semi finals in the past and lost them all but one.
Yep, I’m referring (sorry DB😂) to 1966. I was 1 year 7 months old so I don’t actually remember it.

I’m not a stats man so I’ll stumble my way through this, but that’s how you like it.

Italy did the Spanish last night, knackered after 120 minutes of falling over, bruising a knee etc and won on penalties.

As I said, England have been here before. Germany in 96?

Croatia 18, defeated.
There are more but I’m a lazy fooker n can’t be arsed to remember.
Though one thing is, the last time England beat Germany in a knockout stage was in the World cup final in 1966.
They beat em last week so is England’s name on the cup?

This is also the first back to back semi finals since 1968.


One thing I’ve noticed about this particular England squad, yes the entire squad is their composure and togetherness.
They, all of them are there for each other. That I believe is down to the manager and his team.
Their fitness levels are incredible. Usually England are Knackered this time of year. Not this team.

NewOrme mentioned a few days ago how good a National team Manager Southgate is, or has become.

His team selection and formations baffle us but he gets the job done. I agree with NewOrme’s thoughts on this.This Manager has a calming influence on this entire squad.

Is this for England fans to actually believe and have faith in them?
Tomorrow will be a big step in that regard.

If England reach the European Championship final then that’s the biggest step they’ve made since I was 1 year 7 months old.

The English can dream.
They have a right to dream.

As a Scouser I do wish them well. I won’t lose any sleep if they fail. I won’t gloat though.
