For every other team and their fans in Liverpool’s group the final games represent an exciting climax where any one of them could advance to the knockout stages. For Liverpool fans it’s party time and this game is just an extra fixture we could do without. For FSG though, it’s a chance to make some more money. For the club, of course, not for them personally. Perish the thought. Every win in the group stages adds $3.3M to the coffers or the Bellingham fund as we used to call it before he blotted his copybook by moaning about a referee who shouldn’t be allowed within 60 miles of any football stadium let alone refereeing a top flight game. But, I digress.

Klopp has already said he will rotate but how far will he go? For the Porto game he made 5 unforced changes and I expect something similar this time round with a good few players rested or at least not in the starting line up. In some ways, I’d quite like to see him play a complete second eleven against an AC Milan side weakened by injuries and save our A team for Villa. I mean what’s the worst that could happen? Milan to go through instead of Atletico? I think, though, he will still go pretty strong to chase the money or is that a harsh assessment. Perhaps he will surprise me. After all he is always moaning about there being too many fixtures for the players…..;-) Anyway, team: Alisson, Williams. Konate, Matip, Tsimikas, Morton, Ox, Fab, Salah, Origi, Minamino or something similar.

But, just for a bit of fun, which team do you think will join Liverpool in the latter stages of the competition and emerge from (deepen the voice and turn on the echo machine) “the group of death” cue manic laughter. Sadly, I think Atletico
