Just something to think about….
What do we do with a star like Joe Gomez?
Hear me out…..
So we have 5 Cbs, right? We have to lose 1( Hope we can hold onto 5 but that’s just me being selfish) hopefully not this winter but next season.
Do we want to keep hold of a fit Nat, who is a different type of defender to Joe, or lose him completely?
Joe seems to be injured every season unfortunately. Sad , really sad for him.
I’m not talking about selling Joe but a seasons loan at Villa or somewhere else where he’ll get more game time than with us, To get his fledgling career back or does he play as 4th choice for us and warm the bench as he’s been doing most of the time?
I don’t think he’s happy with the situation at all and I’m sure his camp is making calls.
WIll Nat accept being 4th choice though if Joe goes on loan somewhere meanwhile? He is under contract for a few more seasons and would like to win more trophies and medals but he too wants to play more games.
For me Ibou is currently 3rd choice whether anyone likes to hear that or not. We brought him at the right right time and in a season or 2 will be a proper defender I feel. What we are doing with him is absolutely wonderful. Playing him along with the big boys but also like on Tuesday giving him the opportunity to be the big guy.
