<The heading says it all really. Benfica CL quarter final first leg. Tuesday 6 April. Nothing more to be said really, but I’ve never let that get in my way before, so here goes…
It’s always nice to see some of the sleeping giants of the game waking up and back competing at the top of the game after a period in the wilderness. Inter is on the up and Benfica definitely falls in that category too. I always remember them for the great Eusebio who was one of the greatest footballers and not, as far as I am aware, a rival to Dimi and Steve.
Team: Alisson, TAA, Matip, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Hendo, Thiago, Mane, Jota, Salah. Harsh on Diaz but who to drop? Yeah, greedy Salah, of course, what was I thinking 😁 However, I think Klopp will start strong and make use of the extra subs second half. On the other hand he might decide to start with a few of the other “fringe” players and use the bench as needed. After all, it is only the first leg, with the home leg still to come.
