Liverpool v Man City

We all know Liverpool has a mountain to climb in trying to compete with Moneychester City. We are still beset by injuries (Konate possibly being the latest), which means we are not at full strength. We are struggling to find our form, which might also be related to injuries, because we don’t have the numbers to rotate the midfield. In turn, this makes it difficult to control the game and then we are competing with teams like City with seemingly unlimited resources, despite FFP. Klopp has come in for criticism within the game for pointing out the obvious, though those that stay silent know it’s the truth, but it ain’t going to change any time soon, so we just have to get on with it.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, as we do now have players coming back from injury and it seems that the injuries to TAA and Diaz might not be as serious as they might have been, so it all points to the team being in a good position to push forward after the World club to secure a place in the CL and challenge for some cups. In the meantime, of course, we need to stay in touch in the league and beating City today would be a very good start. On paper, we are second favourites in this game, despite home advantage, but as we have shown in patches already this season, we still have quality in the squad and when it clicks we can compete with the best. Hopefully, today will serve as a reminder to all the doubters.

Team: If we are without Konate I would go with Nat but I will be watching the game through my fingers and hoping for flashes of quality from our players upfront whilst praying for a bit of luck (and Alisson) at the back. COYR
