A new way or self harm ?

I know I won’t let this go, but bear with me and humour me once more. I really don’t like the way we are playing out from the back, especially centrally in our own third. I would have less of an issue if we were doing that outwide, or not moving it centrally until we were closer to, or in, our opponents half. As I have said before, passing across the front of the box gives me the heebie jeebies. If you are going to play that way your passing needs to be pretty near perfect and you need a goalkeeper with the middle name of “twinkletoes” and there aren’t many of those around. I think Slot is trying to shoehorn the players into playing a system that doesn’t suit their skills. In the Ipswich game there were several times we either gave the ball away, or had to hastily play the ball off an attacker for a throw in. Maybe it’s early days, but I have seen too many comments eager to say that Slot knows exactly what he is doing with only limited evidence, if any, to support that assertion.

I understand the risk and reward argument, but with most risks there are ways you can mitigate the risks in some way. The difficulty I have is, how do you mitigate the risk of your central defenders passing the ball to an attacker in front of your own penalty area? Over to you to show I’m wrong.
