Arsenal vs Liverpool

I don’t know if I have mentioned this before but I really don’t like Arsenal. Charlie George in 1971 and Michael Thomas 1989. Ok yes I might have mentioned it every time we play them and sometimes in between but there may be someone looking in from a remote Tibetan monastery with dodgy internet coverage who has missed it so I will say it again. I really hate Arsenal!

Reluctantly though, I have to admit they are a good attacking side and have a number of exciting young players including Saka and Martinelli (injured). Their defence is indefensible though and will I suspect stop them challenging for the top 4 for another season at least. United and Chelsea are similar with some good youngsters and exciting forwards but they are also inconsistent and lacking something in defence. They probably will be top 4 again next year but I can’t see them seriously threatening us or City over the season.

After his goal in the last game against Burnley, Robbo has now scored twice this season and is only 21 goals behind Vardy in the race for the golden boot. Salah is slightly better placed on 19 goals. Salah also has 9 assists which is more than double that of any of the other goalscorers in the top 10. This is a record he is selfishly hanging on to;-)

Team: The team I would like to see start is the strongest possible lineout now that Milner is again available with substitutions used later to save players and give the youngsters and fringe players more game time. Alisson, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Gini, Milner, Mane, Firmino, Salah. I would like to see Mini, Keita, Williams, Jones and Ox as the subs used.
