Aston Villa vs Liverpool

Next up we have David Cameron’s favourite club Burnley West Ham Aston Villa. This is a clash of European Cup winners. Villa won it in 1982 with Peter Withe scoring the winner against a German team called Bayern Munich (whatever happened to them, I hear you ask?). Anyway, this is a league meeting and I’ll wager a future CL meeting between the sides is someway off.

Klopp is Pictured below fraternising with the enemy in the form of the Villa mascot Bella the lioness. This was at the match last year and whilst I can see the strange appeal of our Bella , I very much doubt Klopp will be quite so familiar this time around. The events of the last 48 hours has made us all only too well aware of the very real threat posed by covid 19. The most important man in the World has caught the virus…….. along with the President of the United States. I am sure I speak for all you all in wishing Mane a very speedy recovery……

Villa are unbeaten in their last 8 matches winning six of them. They opened this season away to Sheffield United and were slightly fortunate to win 1-0. This was against a side down to 10 men after just 12 minutes and which had a penalty saved/missed. They followed this up with a much more comfortable 3-0 win against a defensively inept Fulham. More recently, earlier this week, they lost to Stoke in the Carabao cup which doesn’t count as it’s not a competition that anyone sets much store by.

The team more or less picks itself with Hendo back and Mane self isolating. Team: Alisson, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Hendo, Gini, Mini, Firmino. Limpet. I don’t think anyone could possibly argue with that ……..
