Liverpool v Bayern Munich. PSF.

We move on to our penultimate pre season friendly against the giants of German football. It’s a crap league but hey, Bayern can only play against what is before them, a bit like PSG, but better.

Bayern Munchen as they are known in Bavaria are steeped in history. Founded in 1900. They’ve got a bit of history too. They’ve won the Bundesliga 33 times and won the damn thing 25 times under its previous name.

European champions 6 times, Club world cup champs twice and a host of other stuff too.

Bayern are a club that lives within its means, like all German clubs do, which has to be respected for seeing footy as it is and should always be seen as, a working man or woman’s sport and not a play thing for spoilt brats with too much money.

Preseason is almost over so where do we think we are in terms of fitness, ability and the strength going forward?

Preseason is always a case of getting the lads to gel, a few incomings need to bond. It’s not all about winning in preseason, it’s more about bonding. In our Premier League win in 2019/20 we only won one match, against Bradford if memory serves me well. SkipRats have been battered from pillor to post this preseason. Whilst it’s totally hilarious it doesn’t actually mean much, apart from the laughter watching them run around like headless chickens, obviously.

Depending on the teams put out on the pitch this should be a good test for both teams, steeped in history go head to head and both will want to win.

On we march through another match to regain the level we once had.
