Liverpool vs Brighton and Hove Albion

I was looking for a picture to use for the match article for the Brighton game and so I put in Brighton beach and this one came up and as soon as I saw it I realised this is the job I want when I grow up 😉

Anyway I digress. Back to football and with the fixtures coming thick and fast, tonight we are doubling up and playing both Brighton and Hove Albion (I have only used this joke three times before. Plenty more life left in it yet). They have a few injuries though at the moment most notably young Lamptey, who looks an exciting prospect. They have up and down form but outplayed Spurs and secured a good win last time out and as Klopp said in his presser they play good football.

As you know one of our former players Lallana now plays for Brighton. The knowledge that Adam “killer” Lallana might be lying in wait is one of the reasons why Klopp may not risk playing any of our youngsters in this game. it seems Adam’s budding film career is taking off though as he looks ahead to the day his playing days come to an end.

Now to the Liverpool team for this game. I am hoping that Mane will be available, at least on the bench, but fear Fab might not be ready. I don’t expect either of our new CBs to start either, but in view of our shortage of options at CB, wouldn’t be surprised to see Davies on the bench. Anyway, I am going for a slightly different setup to the last game against WHU. I have picked Jones to start over Milner, as he is nursing a slight hamstring issue. I have also gone for Firmino to start over Origi, as the aerial threat is likely to be less from Brighton than it was from WHU. I think this is probably why Origi got the nod last time out, as he was one of four players strung across the 6 yard box for corners and freekicks. Team: Alisson, TAA, Phillips, Hendo, Robbo, Gini, Thiago, Jones, Shaq, Firmino, Salah. This is of course only my guess at Klopp’s team as the whole footballing World is eagerly waiting confirmation when Robbo publishes his fantasy football team.
