Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
Well, at the start of this funny old season, I had a dream that we’d be going into the final game with a big prize in our sights. I must admit though I didn’t think our opponents would be Crystal Palace. I did think the prize would be the Champions League but I thought we’d be aiming at lifting it not merely qualifying for next season. Ah well beggars and all that…..
I can’t recall an end to the season quite like this one with three teams all vying for just two CL places on the last day of the season and really no clear favourites either. In some ways I think Chelsea are in most peril of missing out because they are away with fans returning. Then again, given their recent form and Villa’s, they could just as easily sail through. Whatever happens, much as I’d like Liverpool to be three up and the other two teams losing at half time, I just know it’s going to be yet another nail biter.
Say it quietly but Jota might even be available to play a part and he joins recent returnees Milner and Ox to offer the team even more attacking options off the bench. On the other hand Keita is apparently injured again but sadly that is really no loss to the side. Rumours too that he wants a move to Atletico. Good luck with that then.
