Southampton vs Liverpool
Well as the Premier League pacemakers we are off to St Mary’s to face Southampton one of the founders of the English Football league. Like many long standing British football clubs they started life as a Church club hence the ongoing link to St Mary and their nickname the Saints.
Southampton will again be without the injured Nathan Redmond and Jannik Vestergaard. In addition their first choice goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is now having to self isolate after testing positive for covid. This means Fraser Forster will make his first start for Southampton in over a year.
Again I think we need to go with our strongest team and the only real choice for me is at CB between Williams and Phillips and I think Williams is more mobile. No other reason. Team; Alisson. TAA, Williams, Fab, Robbo, Hendo, Gini, Jones, Mane, Firmino, Salah. We do also have some options in midfield with Thiago, Ox and Milner all needing time to get fully up to speed so hopefully JK will use a couple as subs and I think Mini deserves some more minutes too after his last game where he looked lively.
