The future is bright
Apologies troops, I’ve been short on time this weekend so no ratings for yesterday’s game, just a quick filler article on who would have been my McMOTM yesterday, young Curtis Jones.
Curtis has had to be patient for his minutes this season, with Elliott and then Thiago initially being preferred to the young scouser. With the aforementioned duo now injured, I expect we’ll see a lot more of Curtis in the coming weeks.
Our midfield needs someone who can receive the ball in tight spaces and handle it. Gini was brilliant at it, as is Thiago and Curtis looks to have the same traits. His first touch is excellent, as is the way he receives the ball on the half turn. I was saying the other week that he needs to add goals and assists to his game over the next couple of seasons to be the total package and his rocket yesterday will have done his confidence no harm at all, even if it did take a deflection on the way through.
We have a real talent on our hands here and I expect we’ll see rapid development in his game over the next couple of seasons, much like we did With Trent.
With Curtis, Harvey, Kaide Gordon etc. The future is definitely looking bright. Walk on!
